2024 Emilia Romagna MotoGP Practice Results – Marc Marquez Skyrockets in Casual Style as Francesco Bagnaia Breaks Record

Ducati racer, Francesco Bagnaia, managed to become the fastest in the 2024 Emilia Romagna MotoGP practice session.

Francesco Bagnaia took first place in the 2024 Emilia Romagna MotoGP practice session at the Misano Circuit, Italy, Friday (20/9/2024).

The Italian rider was in first place with a best lap time of 1 minute 30.286 seconds which became the all time record on that track.

Jorge Martin (Pramac Racing) and Marc Marquez ( Gresini Racing ) respectively occupied second and third positions.

The competition in the 60-minute session was opened by the unfortunate fate experienced by Jack Miller from Red Bull KTM who crashed at turn 6.

Not long after, Franco Morbidelli from Pramac Racing immediately shot to first position with a best lap time of 1 minute 34.014 seconds.

Morbidelli’s position was replaced by his teammate, Jorge Martin, who shot up with a time of 1 minute 31.846 seconds.

10 minutes have passed and Marc Marquez, the mainstay of Gresini Racing, has not yet come out of the garage.

At the same time, Francesco Bagnaia made the Ducati factory team soar by taking first place with a time of 1 minute 32.129 seconds.

GASGAS Tech3 rookie Pedro Acosta became the second rider to crash at turn 14.

Marquez finally did run 1 in the 2024 Emilia Romagna MotoGP practice session and immediately shot up to sixth position.

The winner of eight world titles was only 0.6 seconds behind Bagnaia who was able to sharpen his record to 1 minute 30.924 seconds.

With 40 minutes remaining, most of the riders returned to the paddock to prepare themselves for run 2.

10 racers took advantage of the slightly empty track to improve their time records, one of whom was Marc Marquez .

The owner of number 93 is increasingly threatening after being able to move up to fourth place after improving his time to 1 minute 31.490 seconds.

Martin took over the lead from Bagnaia after his hotlap produced a best lap time of 1 minute 30.844 seconds.

Misfortune befell Marc Marquez’s younger brother and teammate at Gresini Racing , Alex Marquez, who crashed at the 1-2 chicane.

The 2024 Emilia Romagna MotoGP practice session has 20 minutes left, Martin has not been displaced in first place with a lead of 0.058 seconds over Bagnaia.

Meanwhile, Marquez had to drop to fifth position with a gap of 0.4 seconds from Martin in first place.

The competition for the 10 positions heading to qualifying 2 (Q2) is getting fiercer as the session approaches its final 10 minutes.

Marc Marquez, who rode the Ducati Desmosedici GP23, rocketed to second place, 0.054 seconds behind Martin.

Not long after, Marquez dropped to third after Bagnaia improved his time to 1 minute 30.286 seconds to take first place.

The MotoGP world champion for the last two seasons was 0.245 seconds ahead of Martin who returned to the garage at a crucial time.

Martin threw away the chance to catch Bagnaia’s lap time after falling while trying to negotiate Turn 8.

The Misano Circuit casualties increased when Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider, Fabio Di Giannantonio crashed at turn 10.

Miller’s teammate Brad Binder also had to end his luck after sliding at turn 6, and Bagnaia’s teammate Enea Bastianini at turn 14.

Until the finish flag waved, Bagnaia was in first place with a time of 1 minute 30.286 seconds, which is the latest record at the Misano Circuit.
