Gresini racer, Marc Marquez, is considered to have the ability to endure pain that his rivals rarely have.
It cannot be denied that Marc Marquez is still one of the special racers on the main class stage of MotoGP 2024.
This season, the Spanish racer is slowly being able to return to his best form with Gresini.
Before becoming the mainstay of Nadia Padovani’s team, Marquez experienced difficulties with Repsol Honda since the 2020 season.
When experiencing difficult periods with the Japanese manufacturer, not a few thought that Marquez was finished.
However, this slanted view was not correct after the 31 year old rider showed a good performance on the track.
Up to nine MotoGP series in 2024, Marquez recorded five podiums from sprint sessions or mini races.
Meanwhile, for the main racing session, he has won eight world titles four times.
One podium that could be considered special from Marquez occurred in the German GP session at the Sachsenring.
Marquez had to go through a tough struggle to achieve sweet results in the final race of the first half of MotoGP 2024.
How come? The owner of Number 93 had an accident that broke his finger on the first day.
However, Marquez showed his mentality as a champion when he experienced difficulties again in the qualifying round.
Because he failed to get a good time record, Marquez had to experience two German GP races from 13th position.
Under these conditions, Marquez was still able to recover his position in the sprint by finishing in sixth place and second on the podium in the main race.
The podium at the German GP was an even more special moment because his teammate and younger brother, Alex Marquez, finished in third place.
What Marquez showed in the German GP series was able to attract the attention of John McGuinness.
The legend of the most prestigious street motorbike racing event in the world, TT Isle of Man, does not hesitate to show his admiration for Marquez.
For McGuinness, the momentum and results obtained by Marquez at the German GP really made no sense, especially with the accident he experienced.
Having the unfortunate fate of a horror accident on the first day and then being on the podium is proof that Marquez is a resilient rider.
“By the way, Marc Marquez performed extraordinary in Germany,” said John McGuinness, reported by BolaSport.com from Motosan
“What happened after the terrible accident on the first day was simply unconscionable,” he added.
With these results, McGuinnes feels that Marquez has the ability to relieve pain that not just anyone has.
“I think he’s definitely one of the few people in the world who can overcome the pain he feels,” McGuinness said.
“I don’t know if he is crazy or made of something different, what is certain is that he can make the pain go away,” he added.
