Indonesian Library Encourages Implementation of Obligation to Hand Over and Store Printed and Recorded Works

The National Library of the Republic of Indonesia made a visit related to monitoring the implementation of Law Number 13 of 2018 concerning the Handover of Printed and Recorded Works.

Led by Catur Fitri Widiyawati, SSKCKR Manager, the National Library carries out the mandate of supervision over the implementation of deposit handover obligations for Ministries/Institutions’ publications.

During this visit, the National Library Team visited the BNN Library room directly, which is located in the BNN Building area on Jalan MT. Haryono No. 11 Cawang – East Jakarta, Thursday. The arrival of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia was welcomed by the Intermediate Public Relations Officer of the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of the BNN Secretariat, M. Affan Eko Budi S., S.IP., M.Sc., representing the Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of the BNN Secretariat, in the BNN Library room.

Furthermore, an overview of the organizational structure and duties of the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau is also presented, which includes the function of library services. As well as BNN library management which refers to the National Special Library Standards.

Meanwhile, Catur Fitri Widiyawati, Manager of SSCKKR, expressed his gratitude for the good welcome from BNN for the friendly visit carried out by the National Library as well as appreciation for the BNN Special Library which clearly exceeded expectations with its various service innovations.

Some of the things conveyed during this visit were:

a. Appeal for timely implementation of Law Number 13 of 2018 concerning Handover of Printed and Recorded Works;
b. The need for cooperation in the management of Printed Works and Recorded Works;
c. Involvement of the BNN Special Library in activities carried out by the National Library; and
d. Opportunities to increase capabilities for library managers.

At the end of their visit, the team from the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia toured the BNN Library area, accompanied by Intermediate Public Relations Officers and all BNN Special Library managers showing several innovations made by the BNN Library team.

It is hoped that this visit can create synergy between the BNN Special Library and the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia as supervisors of library management and service functions. With guidance from the National Library, the hope of the BNN Special Library becoming the only reference library for knowledge about narcotics can be realized and the Indonesian people can easily obtain information about P4GN.
