1. Central Java Library

This library is managed by the Province of Central Java and was founded in 1951. Its location is in Semarang, namely Jalan Sriwijaya number 29A with a very complete book collection. On the first floor there is a registration room and journal room, while on the second floor there is a public reading room as well as a children’s room.

You can use your Student Identity Card to become a member of the library provided the KTM is in the Semarang area and the KTP is in the Central Java area.

Access to the library is fairly easy. If you are from Wahid Hasyim University, you only need to go to Karyadi Hospital. Continue the journey towards the Central Java Regional Police and continue towards Java Mall Jalan Sriwijaya. 200 meters after the gas station on the right side of the road you will see this library.

This library in Semarang is open from 8 am to 5 pm. If you bring a vehicle and use the parking area, you must prepare a parking fee of IDR 2,000.

2. Semarang City Library

Located on Jalan Pemuda Number 175 opposite Lawang Sewu, the library has 1 floor which is open from 7 am to 7 pm. The library also requires that prospective library members who wish to register for membership must have a Semarang City ID card.

This library can receive up to 100 visitors every day with a total book collection reaching 72,000 copies. Meanwhile, the English book collection reaches 39 books. You can also access the library via e-learning. This library also provides computers for students who forget or do not bring laptops for browsing. Use the computer on the side of the bookshelf if you want to look for books.

Getting to the library is fairly easy. If you are coming from Wahid Hasyim University, you need to travel to Tugu Muda. When you want to go to Dian Nuswantoro University, you can turn your motorbike to the right of the road and you will see a large multi-storey building with the words Semarang City Government written on it. On the ground floor there is an inscription Semarang City Library. Unlike the previous option, parking at the library is free.

3. Semarang Regency Library

The location of this library in Semarang is on Jalan Pemuda Number 7, Ungaran, Semarang Regency. The library is considered busy because it is near a bus transit area and main road.

The library has opening hours from 8 am to 8 pm with the majority of visitors being students.

To reach the location of the Semarang Regency Library, it is quite far because from Wahid Hasyim University, you still have to take public transportation to Ungaran and pass through Semarang State University. Once you arrive at the Ungaran terminal, you can go straight south until you can find this library after 500 meters. All you have to do is look to the right side of the road behind the bus stop.

If you want to become a member of the library, you must use a Semarang Regency KTP. Don’t forget that when you want to visit, make sure you have prepared parking money.
